We spent the week after Easter visiting Grandma and Grandpa in Wales and having a great time and making many wonderful memories:
| We went on some good walks. The signs indicating the way |
| we followed the stream's course and saw how it cut out its own little valley |
| walking |
| Crossing the stepping stones |
We also went on a morning trip to visit the ruins of Coity Castle
| we were so lucky with the weather |
| it had a huge ditch around it which was the original moat |
| celendines everywhere |
We also spent an afternoon at the beach, to make the most of the lovely sun:
| Wales, so sheep everywhere of course. and oh! the tiny lambs are so cuute! |
| tell-tale signs of sheep....bits of wool tangled up in the gorse spikes |
| The mouth of the river Ogmore |
| The children and Grandma decided to go paddling in the freezing cold Bristol Channel! |
Grandpa found this Mermaid's purse and I was super excited; I have been trying to find one for years!
| Mermaid's purse. It's the egg case of a dogfish |
The boys found 'Crystal Palace' (huge rocks forming an almost-cave with big veins of quartz running through the rocks), we saw some brown sea anemones with their tentacles out and poked one to see the tentacles going back in, we saw a lugworm in action burrowing a tunnel, it was amazing! I found several collections of common whelk egg sacks too, and of course many barnacles and limpets:

| limpets |
| Back at home, our treaures |
and of course, what better way to end a day at the seaside than with....
| ice-cream! |
| Gorse |
