Legoland

We left the house early in the morning just as the children next door were heading out of the door going to school.
"We're going to LEGOLAND!!" B7 announced to them!

(not sure what their mother thought of him telling them that on a Monday morning as they headed to school!)

It was our first visit, and had been organised by a home ed group we are part of. There were 800 other home educators there; we basically took over the park!

We were exceptionally lucky with the weather, as it was sunny and cloudy, but not cold or rainy.

We went on many rides...
Joseph shooting things on the Ancient Egypt ride
and saw many lego creations:
Mmm..lego icecream

Lego family enjoying a picnic

Mini lego cities from around the world. Here is some of London

Old Wembley stadium

Sacre-Coer in Paris

Fishermen

Stonehenge and Glastonbury Tor, which we have seen "in real life"

And so many other activities. One of their favourites was Atlantis, the underwater sub, where you see white-tipped sharks and manta rays swimming past!
Both boys also got into their swimming costumes and enjoyed an hour at the splash parks as well.

I even got some home ed in, as we are currently studying the Vikings in history, and we went for a ride in a swinging Viking Longboat, and went for a wander around naughty Loki's maze!

It was a great day. B7 kept saying "I'm so happy!"

We were spoiled however as, despite there being 800 home educators there, there were no queues for anything, we just jumped on and off rides, and went on multiple rides and had lots of time for everything, although there were still a few rides we didn't do.
Once you experience things like that as a home educator, (paying out-of-season cheap fares, and having an entire place to yourself) it does make you much much more reluctant to go anywhere during the holidays when it's more crowded and more expensive!

Here's to next year!
